Error using Smart Package Manager with Fedora 17

When I try to use Smart Package Manager GUI with Fedora 17 I get this message attempting to update the Core channel:

"Download of repomd.xml.asc failed for secure channel 'Fedora 17 - x86_64': File not found".

Does anybody know how this can be fixed ? The same problem exists when I try to update the Update channel.

I am sure I have the correct base URL, mirrorlist, and fingerprint settings in Smart.
