Cool MS and NBC split the sheets.

Got an interesting surprise when I clicked in to MSNBC to scan the news this morning.

http://www.nbcnews.com/

Note the change in both header and URL.

The story: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/48180815...s-us_business/

If Microsoft is going into the independent news business ... it kinda makes me wonder which update schedule will eventually win out. Will the headlines on the website go a month between updates, or will the software develop an, "If it bleeds, it leads -- in 72 pt bold," mentality?

This is kinda curious? Yahoo is now tied into ABC (news), and was once a great stop for world news, as Yahoo used AP as story sources. Now with ABC, Yahoo is just an affiliate, so to speak.

Wonder if Microsoft is going to use AP as it's source for stories? Though I would not trust MS, most likely they would filter (and/or twist) the story to fit their needs

Kind of a bummer with Yahoo. As odd as it was, and other News organizations were not happy about it, Yahoo was the go to place for unfiltered reporting (direct from the source - AP). If I went and put my tin-foil hat on, I would think it was a focussed net effort to spoon feed the masses approved stories

Re: MS and NBC split the sheets.

Big improvement already at nbc.com now that microsoft is mostly gone. All the facebook and twitter crap has disappeared. The main page is far more pleasant and readable. So far I haven't seen any of those now-you-see-it, now-you-don't popup windows that firefox would close almost instantly.
