Installing the USB modem

I have a newly installed Fedora system and want to connect the Micromax USB modem to it for internet connection. But I don't have the linux drivers for it and I have also tried Sakis3g script but it failed to connect.
Fedora does detect my USB modem and it even shows option for connecting to internet. But whenever I try to connect the internet, the network icon shows an active internet connection but no web page opens.

try to see the output of

then look in the /etc/resolv.comf file to see if you have nemeserver.

It's probably being seen as a removable drive instead of a modem.

look at post #2 here for instruction on using the usb_modeswitch to have it seen as a modem:
