Re: Mozilla to cease development of Thunderbird

From the article:

Quote:
Much of Mozilla’s leadership — including that of the Thunderbird team — has come to the conclusion that on-going stability is the most important thing, and that continued innovation in Thunderbird is not a priority for Mozilla’s product efforts.
As others have pretty much said already, how many bells n whistles does an e-mail client really need and how far can you continue to innovate . Lets face it, some software just doesn't have the WOW factor and e-mail clients come into that category, so,yeah, on-going stability seems like a good plan for Tbird given it's current stage of development.

Re: Mozilla to cease development of Thunderbird

I personally find having an email client so convenient .... As long as they are providing bug fixes, I am happy!

Re: Mozilla to cease development of Thunderbird

I use Thunderbird, so this is a little worrying but if I'm totally honest, Thunderbird has not changed much since I started using it. As long as its secure, it will be fine.

Oh I don't know....built in GnuPG support? Thunderbird doesn't have it and last I checked Enigmail didn't work on non-x86 Linuxes.

That's what I've used for years, though I did use Thunderbird before it.

It doesn't score very high in this review but KMail is right at the bottom, where it should be!
