[SOLVED] Inverted screen after bumblebee installed.

hi all,
I've tried to install bumblebee on laptop. I tried as guided on this site. The bumblebee was successfuly installed on my laptop, but when i rebooted my laptop the screen got inverted (it's still normal on login screen). Btw, i use fedora 17 x86_64 with latest update. anyone know how to fix this? thanks

Huh. Did you try going into System Settings?

You can change screen orientation by going to System Settings > Display and Monitor > Size & Orientation. It's possible the screen orientation may read Upside-Down now (in which case, just switch to "no rotation"). If it doesn't, switching to Upside-Down orientation may fix the problem.

At that state, my system seems very unresponsive. btw, the windows frame and task bar have normal orientation, but the contents got inverted. it's very stange....

huh.. you are not alone with that.
I also installed this.. crap and my screen turned upsided-down.
my system is fedora-17.

the point is it happened after I reinstalled nvidia drivers through
"yum install kmod-nvidia". Previously, when I used nvidia drivers
from nvidia website (.sh package), everything seemed to be ok.

on another forum I found the following:

If after a reboot the whole screen is upside-down and/or garbled

You installed nvidia drivers through some other means than the Mandriva packages - this overwrites the Intel hardware acceleration with non-compatible files. Un-install them and replace by the Mandriva packages. If that doesn't fix the problem, you may have to force-reinstall the Intel drivers and xorg files with urpmi --replacepkgs (do a search for packages containing libGL.so, specifically!). It is possible to use the latest official nvidia drivers as well, but it requires a lot of manual configuration. You need to backup the intel-compatible files and move the nvidia versions to a new directory (for example /usr/lib/nvidia-current), then move the intel files back to their original location. The directory that contains the nvidia-compatible files needs to be put in /etc/bumblebee/bumblebee.conf as well.

actualy i have solved this problem, just follow the instruction on this site. After step #7 don't forget to do the Nvidia modules path fix (Thanks to Tomash Brechko) section, which is

This completely separates intel and nvidia stuff for main and bumblebee screens respectively. Note that it moves files originating from RPMs around, so repeating the fix will likely be required after next yum update. Here’s how it goes (under sudo):

1 “rm /etc/ld.so.conf.d/nvidia-lib64.conf; ldconfig” so that programs stop linking with nvidia libGL

2 “mv /usr/lib64/xorg/modules/extensions/nvidia /usr/lib64/xorg” so that Xorg on intel stops finding nvidia modules

3 in /etc/bumblebee/bumblebee.conf set “LibraryPath=/usr/lib64/nvidia” so that programs under optirun will link with nvidia libGL

4 in /etc/bumblebee/xorg.conf.nvidia change ModulePath from “/usr/lib64/xorg/modules/extensions/nvidia” (set per instructions above) to “/usr/lib64/xorg/nvidia” so that X on nvidia will find nvidia modules

5 reboot

and then the problem gone

I tried this today as well but no success..
system got awfully unresponsive etc

then I reinstalled bumblebee from here:
http://techies.ncsu.edu/wiki/bumblebee-nvidia

which also installs the older nvidia drivers 259.53
after that my system became a real mess but
I got my screen back

bumblebee service seems to load fine but
when I try: optirun glxgears
I get the following:

"Cannot access secondary GPU - error: You need to change the ConnectedMonitor
setting in /etc/X11/xorg.bumblebee.conf .."

I tried different parameters from ConnectedMonitor such as "DFP-0", "CRT-0" etc
but no success

then I also checked:
nvidia-xconfig --query-gpu-info

the output was:
Number of GPUs: 1

GPU #0:
Name : GeForce GT 650M
PCI BusID : PCI:1:0:0

Number of Display Devices: 0

so there is indeed no monitor wired to Nvidia's card.

so.. go to hell bumblebee!!
I'd rather use cygwin for CUDA programming..
