Unhappy Sony SZ230P Hardware issues

Hello,

I am running Fedora 17 on a Sony Vaio SZ230P. My issues are occouring with the Thomson Fingerprint Reader and built in Webcam.

I have entered the GDM user account settings for my profile and I click on "fingerprint login". It asks me to register my right hand index finger by moving my finger across three times. For whatever reason it does not register my finger swipes.

My second problem is that my camera is recognized under lsusb but it does not open in cheese. I am not sure if it is a driver error or the software.

This is the output of lsusb http://pastebin.com/UnM9TgGf
Hope that helps.

Thanks.
