Errors installing AMD Catalist driver 12-4-x86.x86_64 in Fedora 17

Hi,

I'm trying to install the amd 12.4 driver in fedora 17 machine but I get this errors.

[root@aqua Descargas]# uname -a

Catalyst 12.4 isn't compatible with Fedora 17, because of it's xorg-server version. Just uninstall the proprietary AMD driver. Catalyst 12.6 should be compatible with F17. But it isn't released yet and supports only 5xxx, 6xxx and 7xxx Radeon series cards.

And after you uninstall the proprietary driver run 'yum reinstall mesa-libGL', which will repair the default drivers.

Fedora 17 can work reasonably well with the included default drivers for ATI cards. Not perfect, but it does the job.

Great thanks to James, this little piece of information is very often missing when people have to go back to the xorg drivers.
