Re: Why Fedora 17 update is slow?
First thing you do when you have issues updating with yum.
This clears out all of yums cache and metadata and starts fresh.
If that doesn't work, then it is possibly the mirror you are trying to connect to and get your updates. There have been issues with some of the mirrors being slow lately.

You can try: yum-plugin-fastestmirror

Re: Why Fedora 17 update is slow?
Sometimes--not always, when it seems to be taking forever, if you hit ctl+C it will restart that particular download and apparently get a faster mirror, or at least better connection--there will be a message to the effect ctl+c was pressed, hit it again to abort, but if you don't hit it again, it will continue downloading.
I've had this happen from time to time--something would show that it was going to take an hour to download, I hit ctl+c and it then resumes the download much more quickly.
My own, very subjective impression, is that that yum has actually gotten faster over the years.

Re: Why Fedora 17 update is slow?
I'd like to echo Scott's comment regarding CTRL/C. Many, many times forcing yum to jump to the next repo has sped it up considerably.

Thanks,
but still slow, "yum clean all" seems has a little effect on speed,
Also I use "Software update" since I have limit download on every day I have to choose what packages to download,
How to see the mirrors or how can I change to faster mirror?

That is not a command. it is a yum plugin. You install the plugin.
PHP Code:
su
<password>
yum install yum-plugin-fastestmirror

Sorry for late reply,
Thanks for answers, I don't know exactly how, but know speed is normal speed, apparantly I installed " fastestmirror "

Many thanks.
