Re: help me to rescue files after fedora 15 crash, pls!

My guess is that your hard drive died. That's a laptop type drive. Is it in a laptop computer?

I don't know whether you are familiar with assembling and disassembling computers. I myself only fool with desktop machines. If you are familiar with computer hardwarel you could test the hard drive by putting it in another machine. There is a remote possibility that a bad data cable, power cable or power supply could be the fault. If the hard drive doesn't show up in BIOS, I don't know anything you can do in software to fix that.

There are (expensive) commerical data recovery services that can often get files off of dead hard drives.

Yes, it's a laptop's one. a Toshiba Satellite A-110. But It was a fault in software, wasn't it?. I'm still puzzled about how-to it ended up in a hardware fault. (I still got hmw to do).
I'll have to replace the HDD and start again .
About rescuing data, googling I ran into this.
I have to thank to you, anyway. It was so kind of you to guide me. I appreciate it.
Txe.
