Fedora 16 Microphone...

Update: Entered PavuControl > Configuration >Internal Audo > Took it off Duplex and put it back on...seems to be working? Still no joy with getting the browser (Firefox or Opera) to take voice however.

Hi,

I did manage to get the microphone working but now...it's playing up again. Not entirely sure why.

I managed to get the microphone working to talk over skype not long ago, as I was working with duolingo just the other day it turns out that my voice wasn't being transmitted properly (or at all). Now also skype won't even take my voice...although it's glitchy, some times it does sometimes it doesn't and I haven't changed a damn thing between the two testing. (It's odd).

Anyway, point is... I can tweak my microphone to get immediate output of the speakers...mostly to test the microphone. So the microphone "is" working and I can get output from it.

However, in the Sound Control (Pavucontrol) or the Gnome default thing... I can't get the microphone levels to change from zero. It's as if I'm not using the microphone at all. Yet I get feedback from the speakers.

Anyone want to throw me a bone?

Edit
----------------------
Current Testing
Skype doesn't work in the slightest
No change on the volume levels.

---------------------
AlsaMixer version 1.0.25
Soundcards - Default, HDA-Intel and Realtek Digi

Pulse audio only has two options both at maximum
HDA-Intel are ALL unmuted. Headphone is unmuted but volume is zero (can't change, don't know why). Mic (Playback) is at zero, raising it gets output from the speakers, but it is unmuted. All Capture is maxed, 2ch and the first one is on Mic.

----------------------
Pavucontrol
Input devices tab is completely empty.

-------------------------
Gnome Sound Control

Hardware > Internal Audio (1 input / 1 Output Selected) set on Duplex
Input = Nothing available
