Fedora 17: Joystick Recognized, Cannot Use as Normal User

Hello,

I am using Fedora 17. I have a USB joystick which I used in 16 without issue. 17 is seeing it as "Logitech, Inc. Extreme 3D Pro" as per lsusb. The problem is that I as a normal user cannot use it. Games, specifically x-plane which in 16 picked it up without issue, do not see it.

I think I recall that in 16 I had to be a member of the usb group. However in 17, there is no usb group. Somebody else suggested adding myself to the plugdev group however there is no plugdev group, either.

Clearly there is something I'm missing here. How can I use my USB attached joystick as a normal user?
