FC17 looks strange at boot up.

Hello,
I did a fresh install of FC17 final release. Did updates at time of install.
When I rebooted after install was finished I no longer had the Blue progress bar at the botton of my display.
What I get now is a large white dot in the middle of the display. When it turnes into the Fedora (F) logo it loads my desktop. Also Firefox and Thunderbird hang almost forever between tasks.

Thanks for reading this and for the help.

if you'd prefer watching the beefy miracle get all mustarded up while your system boots...

Code:
sudo yum -y install plymouth-theme-hot-dog

The white dot is the new loading bar.

well, not exactly, it's more to do with recent updates to plymouth (it replaced RHGB a couple of years ago afaik) and GRUB2 making graphical boot available to more systems, the blue bar is a "text mode" fallback for when GRUB2 can't start graphics some reason (driver, DRM, etc.)

other plymouth themes are available, but His Meatiness graces all of my fedora boxen with his boot-up blessing. as it was written: the mustard indicates progress.
