Cannot find anaconda-runtime in /usr/lib/anaconda-runtime

Hello guys.

After installing Fedora 14 and being satisfied with the behaviour and the packages installed for it, i want to replicate the same installation in a few more PCs, so i installed Revisor to make with it an iso file that reflects my actual installation.

The problem is that if i run the software from Applications->System tools->Revisor, nothing happens after giving the user password.

Then i run it from a consele and this error is produced after giving my password:

"Cannot find anaconda-runtime in /usr/lib/anaconda-runtime"

But anaconda is the environment used for installation, so it is installed from the very begining. Why this happens?

Sorry for my english.

Re: Cannot find anaconda-runtime in /usr/lib/anaconda-runtime

Anaconda is used by the installer but the installer doesn't necessarily install the anaconda package. Make sure it is installed with:

rpm -q anaconda

However, beyond that, there is a bug. See:

https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=649815

and the workaround suggested in comment #1 seems to allow it to at least start here (that is a far I went with testing).

Unfortunately, it looks like the package maintainer is mostly AWOL:

https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=626056

though he does seem to make an appearance in comment #10 of the first bug report (on 19jan2011) where he says it is "fixed" (which it isn't).

Try this from the command line:

sudo ln -s /usr/lib/anaconda /usr/lib/anaconda-runtime

And then try running Revisor.

Re: Cannot find anaconda-runtime in /usr/lib/anaconda-runtime

I had come across the same problem with Fed14 installed within Virtual Box even though Anaconda was installed. I went to /usr/lib directory and there was an anaconda directory with two files (init and loader) but no anaconda-runtime directory. I created the anaconda-runtime directory and copied the two files over and Revisor launched.

Users 64 bits

remove syslink
rm /usr/lib/anaconda-runtime

make a new syslink
ln -s /usr/lib64/anaconda /usr/lib/anaconda-runtime
