Fedora 17 and Firefox 13 Flash Player crashing

Flash player keeps crashing after about 5 minutes. On youtube it works for a full hour without any signs of trouble, but on other sites it just freezes, firefox is non-responding to anything four abour 20 seconds, and then the video player is replaced with the message "Adobe Flash Player has crashed".

Any idea what to do about it?

There has been an Adobe flash update today have you installed that? It may solve your issues as it came out pretty soon after firefox 13. Have you tried other browsers to see if you get the same problems?

Use gnash or backoff fiefox to the 00's and flash version bla,bla, bla obsolete.

It says the version on the flash player website is the latest one, but the firefox addon tab says latest update 05/11/2012.

Is this what you have? I am using F17 with FF13 and facing no problems.

Seems to be the one. So far I had it on only one site, but very regularly.

the time stamp it reports is the code build time (and not the plugin install time to your PC) which is a bit back in time since they build the code, test it for a while and then finally release it.

To see the really accurate time information, run:

rpm -qiv flash-plugin

in a terminal. You'll see the correct install date and build date

I have a crashing flash plugin from Adobe repos, but my crashes are usually immediate when a flash video is played. I've tweaked VDPAU HW h.264 accelereation on and that's the cause of my crashes.

Is yours by any chance related to that too?
