Lightweight portable security

Any know much about the Linux distro developed by the military called lps? Is it a legit Linux or just some plot by the gov't. Thoughts?

Looks like a good idea, used by staff to boot up a clean and safe environment while staying in hotels or at home. Pretty much the same idea that was floating around a few years ago for safe on-line banking, read only media that you boot up and will not mount the local HDD.

Re: Lightweight portable security

It does look like a good idea. I might try and give it a go sometime.

(I was one of the proponents of "secure online banking" via R/O media. I still think it's a good thing to do).

For anyone just looking for a secure on-line banking option one of the lighter Puppy versins running from a live CD should fit the bill.

I hope it catches on and helps people see the light to the security of using a Linux box. I'm always amazed at showing new people a Linux box and they are like wow there is a desktop.
