Re: Help me mount my cell phone hard drive
Maybe downgrading the kernel would make this better?

Does the device have a label you'd recognize? It may be worth looking in /dev/disks/by-label.

drwxr-xr-x 6 root root 120 Jun 3 16:33 ..
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 10 Jun 3 12:53 arch -> ../../sda9
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 10 Jun 3 12:53 debian -> ../../sda1
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 10 Jun 3 12:53 debian-boot -> ../../sda7
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 10 Jun 3 12:53 fedora -> ../../sda8
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 10 Jun 3 12:53 home -> ../../sda5

Re: Help me mount my cell phone hard drive
[root@jonquil jonquil]# ls /dev/disks/by-label
ls: cannot access /dev/disks/by-label: No such file or directory

Re: Help me mount my cell phone hard drive
[root@jonquil jonquil]# ls /dev/disk/by-label
_Fedora-17-x86_6 sysrcd-2.7.1
It's not there.

Re: Help me mount my cell phone hard drive
i am stuck
you indicated you ran chkdsk. so i assume that windows was able to pick it up. as in you were ale to browse it.
what maybe helpful is if you post the output from messages when you insert a FAT32 usb stick.

Re: Help me mount my cell phone hard drive
Unfortunately my 4 year old broke my USB drive, and I haven't gotten a new one yet.

Re: Help me mount my cell phone hard drive
Yes, I'm able to browse it in Windows and also in Ubuntu. I have Ubuntu installed temporarily until this is fixed. I'm not very happy with Ubuntu, so if anyone has ideas on how to get the mounting to work in Fedora, I'm all ears.

Re: Help me mount my cell phone hard drive
What does "ls -l /dev/sd*" show, both with and without the phone attached?
