Wireless problem

Just decided to try Fedora coming from a gentoo install (too much work after a while) and brought with me the firmware to make my wifi stick work, as I can't get online without it. All has been fine (i've only been using f17 a day) until recently when I started losing access to my wifi stick entirely. The only messages coming from the kernel are an onslaught of the following every minute or so.

Code:
kernel: [ 4561.246022] unregister_netdevice: waiting for wlan0 to become free. Usage count = -1
This is extremely annoying as the only way i've come to resolve this problem is a reboot, wich is inconvenient most of the time. Also, this problem does not seem to be specific to the wifi stick, as i get it with another one of a completely different make as well.
