Security and Privacy Sadly, malware, spyware, hackers and privacy threats abound in today's world. Let's be paranoid and secure our penguins, and slam the doors on privacy exploits.

Security for dual-boot system with shared storage partition

I have my computer set up to run Windows on one partition, Fedora 17 on a couple of more partitions, and store all my text files, music files, images, videos and such on another windows partition that I have auto-mounted in Fedora.

Even if Fedora is probably immune to the vast majority of viruses, trojans, and so on, they could still infect the windows installation, so I need to make sure that even on Fedora, I don't download anything that can infect a Windows PC.
It's also nicer and more responsible towards all the people to whom I recommend links and send files.

I started with Fedora only yesterday and played around with other Linux-Versions for only a few days before, so I basically have no idea what programms there are for such things and which ones are reliable.

Please tell me what I need and what I should use.

Re: Security for dual-boot system with shared storage partition

Clam AV seems to be the most commonly recommended anti-virus package that runs on Linux.
