Grub2 no more swedish

Don't know really what happened but after some testing with grub_alt_theme I lost the swedish character. So "Läser in Linux" became "L?ser in Linux" and "(på /dev/sda1)" to (p? /dev/sda1) and so on. Everythings works, just a little bit annoying.

Anyone know what's up?

Thanks.

Re: Grub2 no more swedish

In your /boot/grub2/grub.cfg file you could try adding the line "set lang=sv" somewhere before the first menuentry item. That might fix it, though I can't guarantee it.

Re: Grub2 no more swedish

Thanks for the quick answer. Didn't help though. I changed it to set lang=sv and rebooted, still looking strange. After I tried a : grub2-mkconfig -o /boot/grub2/grub.cfg and it didn't help either. Only thing happen was that set lang=sv was changed to sv_SE

Something changed when I tried grub_alt_theme.tar.gz. I was so keen to have some nice graphic. But right after it was installed the swedish symbols was gone with the wind. There was even an undo script which i fired up and back in old black I was but lost was åäö.

Re: Grub2 no more swedish

Do you still have the grub_alt_theme.tar.gz file? I'm curious to see what files it contains, in particular if it overwrites any font or locale settings (or if it overwrites any grub fonts themselves). Could you post the output of this command?:
Code:
tar tzvf grub_alt_theme.tar.gz
