Fedora 16 Bluetooth Bug?
Hi guys,
since F15 Kernel 2.6.38-8, bluetooth doesn't work for me.
Model: Broadcom BCM2045B
I can't send files or browse on a device via bluetooth and I got the error message:
Code:
>> Error: invoking
GnomeBluetoothApplet.browse_address_finish: Connection refused <<
Any ideas?
Thanks japplo

Re: Fedora 16 Bluetooth Bug?
It worked for me in F15, but now in F16 the icon doesn't appear in the top panel of Gnome 3.2 (Dell Vostro 3500 is my notebook). Any ideas?

Re: Fedora 16 Bluetooth Bug?
I installed bluez-hid2hci and all is well. Don't forget to restart bluetooth service "systemctl restart bluetooth.service" as root. Hope this helps.

Unfortunately it doesn't solve my problem. It seems, that only users with BCM2045B are affected.
Code:
# lsusb | grep Broadcom
Bus 001 Device 004: ID 0a5c:217f Broadcom Corp. Bluetooth Controller

Re: Fedora 16 Bluetooth Bug?
Does this apply to you, Japplo, look near the bottom of the page... http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Firmwa...orking_Devices I found this while looking over a million pages about fedora bluetooth stuff yesterday when I fixed my bluetooth after I spent 10 hours trying to connect my phone via usb to my computer, only to find out after I got bluetooth working, that the usb cable was no good. I'm learning way too much stuff lately.

Re: Fedora 16 Bluetooth Bug?
You'll need to un-comment the line HID2HCI_ENABLE=true in the /etc/sysconfig/bluetooth file. Start the bluetooth service again with service bluetooth restart as root (or restart your machine) and the Bluetooth device should now be available.
Note: this is not a configuration option in Fedora 11 (updates), and later versions, it is automatic. For Fedora 16 and later, you will need to install the bluez-hid2hci package to enable this feature.

I switched back to F15 with Kernel 2.6.38, but I tried it with a F16 Live USB Persistence Installation. Although I have installed the bluez-hid2hci package, I could not find the /etc/sysconfig/bluetooth file..

Re: Fedora 16 Bluetooth Bug?
Hello
I'm using a Dell XPS M1530 Laptop with F16 and Gnome 3. Though I can see the Bluetooth icon in the top left as enabled, the Bluetooth setting is always disabled.
I have installed bluez-hid2hci and done almost all the steps described on Fedora's Bluetooth documentation page, however, I had no luck.
My Bluetooth adapter details
Code:
$ lsusb | grep -i blue
Bus 007 Device 006: ID 0a5c:4500 Broadcom Corp. BCM2046B1 USB 2.0 Hub (part of BCM2046 Bluetooth)
Any help is welcomed.
