Re: really?

yes really,
i try to make a rebuild from source rpm.
first there is a missing dependency for libdesktop-agnostic-devel, python-desktop-agnostic and libdesktop-agnostic-bin.
but for them exits a build for fc17 at koji.
Compiling ends up in a vala error like the maintainer has described.

For me it looks like that awn have to be adjusted to new glib and dbus versions.

Re: really? (AWN broken in F17)

........but the fc16 packages are working in fc17.
I've download them from koji and did a quick test in gnome and mate.
http://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/b...buildID=249014
http://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/b...buildID=263653

....so it's no reason to kick them out from the repo.

Re: really? (AWN broken in F17)

I don't think the issue here is Fedora's packagers. I think AWN is no longer actively developed, seems most of the original team are now busy with Unity. I have been looking for a dock replacement, so far I have yet to find one, though I suspect a Gnome-Shell extension will provide a solution in time.

well one good thing about F17 is that i didnt have to install the broadcom (BCM4313) drivers after a installation, the device was working out of the box... that is nice...

Re: really? (AWN broken in F17)

yeOK is correct. This has little to do with Fedora and nothing at all to do with GNOME; it's simply that upstream AWN development is slow or dead.
