Very slow download speed

I am running a fedora/windows 7 dual boot. I have a rather fast internet connection and on windows it performs at the speed it ought to. I haven't noticed any delays when browsing the internet on Fedora, but right now I am trying to download the IRC client communication via the command su -c 'yum install konversation' and I am downloading at less than 2 killobytes per second. FIxes?

Thanks!

Re: Very slow download speed

Is this a wireless connection?

Try a different mirror ;-)

Re: Very slow download speed

Yes, if you haven't noticed slow speed elsewhere in Fedora, it's more likely to be the specific server that you're downloading from that's slow rather than your own system. Programmer's suggestion should help.

Re: Very slow download speed

Try hitting Ctrl+C, that will sometimes bump yum off the slow server and try the next one in the timedhosts file. Usually it will be faster.
