Nagios -2D map / Parent

The 2D Map in nagios' web interface looks pretty horrible at the minute in an view. We have several Hundred machines and they all over-lap.

I could specify the coordinates but this is prone to errors when things change.

I found an email exchange that suggested using dummy hosts as parents. It did not however suggest how to do this.

Does anyone know how to? If I create a dummy host it needs a service so I am not sure what to do. I tried to create a dummy service and then the monitoring said the host was down.

Any suggestion on solving this / getting a better layout.

I deally I would like the 2d map to use the groups so that the main process branches to a dummy host / group and the groups members branch off under that.

Have you ever looked at them? (Nagios support forums). I haven't found them too useful.

At Adianuc sorry, can't really help, we don't make much use of the maps--mostly we rely on the email notifications for problems and take it from there.
