Re: Just can't use 3c905B ethernet card

I think that's currently supported with the 3c59x module:

Quote:
$ modinfo 3c59x | head -4

filename: /lib/modules/3.3.5-2.fc16.x86_64/kernel/drivers/net/ethernet/3com/3c59x.ko
license: GPL
description: 3Com 3c59x/3c9xx ethernet driver
author: Donald Becker <becker@scyld.com>
Quote:
lsmod
-> look to see if 3c59x is loaded, if it is it will be listed as a module

if not, then load it as root
Quote:
su -c 'modprobe 3c59x'
run lsmod again to confirm it loaded, then try to do your networking setup and see if you can use the network

Try a different pci slot maybe?

If it doesn't show up on lspci then it's either not installed properly or broken.

Re: Just can't use 3c905B ethernet card

Usually those older parts are pretty trouble free.

So post the output from
lspci -vnnk
ip link

run as root.

It's possible you will need to set some driver parameters for that part.
