SFTP Dropping connection

.conf
Intel Motherboard
Fedora 17
Soft Raid - 6 TB
Intel NIC 10/100/1000
Processor Intel dual core
Local 1GB subnet
DLS level 2 for Internet

System appears stable.
Hardware configuration has been running 3+ years starting with various Fediors vintages.

When connected to sftp server from either a Windows 7 or Fedora 10 sftp client it transfers from 250 mb to 1 gb then drops the connection. Client reconnects and the process repeats.

The file is 40GB.

Same NIC used for all other TCP/IP traffic without problem. Machines are connected via an HP pro-curve 10/100/1000 switch.

I ran into a similar problem with Fedora 16 that was never resolved, it just stopped happening.

How can I find out why the connection is dropping?
I've looked for it in logs but cannot find any info.

Any direction will be greatly appreciated.
Mike

Re: SFTP Dropping connection

Can you try to increase some timeouts?

Re: SFTP Dropping connection

You could try invoking sftp with the "-v" directive. The "-v" being verbose.

Hope this helps,
