Firefox unable to remember all passwords

I am using firefox version 12. However it is not remembering passwords for few sites. How do i make firefox to remember all passwords? I dont care about security issues, because its my personal laptop running Fedora 16. Where i need to save all my password informations in firefox instead of entering it all the time. Any way to customize firefox settings to remember all passwords. Thanks in advance

Some sites, such as banks, are set up so that your browser doesn't remember your password. I'm not sure just how that's done, but I don't think you can override it. Yes, it can be a PITA at times, especially for those of us who don't share their computers, but it's intended to be for our protection.

It's actually pretty simple to do for the site designer, you add autocomplete='off' to your password field in the HTML.

I have a bookmarklet that removes those, I got it from here: https://www.squarefree.com/bookmarklets/forms.html

It doesn't seem to work in Chrome, but it does in Firefox.

Re: Firefox unable to remember all passwords

Also if you accidently entered the wrong password in the past and saved it then re-entered the correct one, Firefox sometimes keeps both which "confuses it" so that nothing is displayed. You can check for this in preferences/security/saved passwords.

Ps I would highly recommend using a strong master password to protect those passwords in firefox and encrypting your /home directory when you next install. Could prove a real hassle saver if ever the worst happens and your laptop goes walking

I think sidebrnz has given you the most appropriate answer. The cookies are disabled for some sites and you can't do anything about it. Its the web site admin that decides that and users are just sitting ducks!

If you must use a password manager, I would suggest lastpass extension - works both on Chrome and Firefox. This will remember all passwords in almost all websites that I have used so far - including those that Firefox/Chrome cannot remember passwords on.

WARNING: This is a third party extension. Do some research before you start using it. Use it ONLY after you have weighed pros and cons.
