I have a laptop, laptops are pretty useless with out wireless, and it is currently a major road block. I've been trying to research this and find fixes for it.
symptom:
-Network manager shows wireless connections available, but will not authenticate to them (continues to ask for password, despite the password being correct).
-Wireless connections are very weak.
after looking into it a bit, it seems anything 3.3.0 and older will work, 3.3.1 something broke support for the ath9k Atheros driver, and 3.3.2 was supposed to have a fix for it. A forums posting I found (here i think) told some one they had to revert back to an older kernel and that was the only fix at the time. I've tried many kernels as old as 2.6.0 and as new as 3.3.6, none have worked.
some one else where also suggested that I would have to remove the current profile for the SSID i was trying to connect to, and re add it to the network manager manually. I have tried this and it also did not work.
I would really rather use a red hat based distro, fedora is my go-to , currently trying the fedora 17 x64 beta as i hoped it would have a fix for my issue included, it did not (as has no other distros, linux mint of all thing had the issues as well, i assume this is due to the kernel)
does any one know what I can do about this? is there an update for the ath9k driver? is there a special compiled kernel i can get to fix this?
its a nice wireless card, I'd really rather not replace it. I find it rather strange this is such a big issue that feels like its gone un-attened to for quite some time.
