Lives install issue

I am running into issues when getting Lives to work. I have installed it and all the supported rpms it needed to run. However when I select the Icon for Lives it starts up and runs through test. It gets to the point of testing where it reads "checking if mplayer can convert audio = Failed" I have mplayer installed but not sure what else need to be done im running Fedora 16 32bit.

Try to install mencoder:

yum install mencoder

check and make sure mencoder is installed.
I'd recommend you download from here http://koji.russianfedora.ru/koji/pa...?packageID=185 and install with yum.
yum will sort out any missing dependencies for you

Ok compeleted the yum install mencoder with serveral updates didn't see anything for mplayer conversion. I also verified the install for lives along with the debug etc. Still fails saying mplayer unable to covert audio. Is there anything else that I should try?
