Lives install issue

I am running into issues when getting Lives to work. I have installed it and all the supported rpms it needed to run. However when I select the Icon for Lives it starts up and runs through test. It gets to the point of testing where it reads "checking if mplayer can convert audio = Failed" I have mplayer installed but not sure what else need to be done im running Fedora 16 32bit.
