fedora16 kernel x86_64 3.3.4-3

Im trying to use a kernel (3.3.4-3) with PAE

It is an older system and in a windows os environment says it has PAE

It now is using the standard x86_64 bit 3.3.4-3 fedora 16 install

Ive tried using yum to get the devel PAE and PAE kernel but it says that there isnt one ??

Im toying with my install and am trying to speed it up because it seems to run slow and i could be wrong but i would still for giggles and all that like to see what if any difference it would do

Re: fedora16 kernel x86_64 3.3.4-3

There is no need for PAE on a x86_64 O/S (the 64 bit kernel can address 64Tb of RAM).

i686 = x86 or 32bit

Where, specifically, did you find on that page that there was a 64 bit PAE kernel? <....>

Re: fedora16 kernel x86_64 3.3.4-3

i never asked for a 64 bit i asked if you could get the PAE for the kernel 3.3.4-3 and it would seem if they have the devel rpm for it someone has made the PAE

I mean yeah look at alot of the computers that had the built in PAE technology and they all can use the normal kernel or the PAE one

I simply thought this kernel had one too and again according to the page it has the devel rpm for it so id think they must have a kernel or be working on one lmao

Seems that is what I have on one of my systems:
Code:
[glenn@server ~>$ uname -ra
Linux server 3.3.4-3.fc16.i686.PAE #1 SMP Thu May 3 14:54:14 UTC 2012 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux
