[SOLVED] fed16 dual boot install win7 does not fully boot up

i don't even make the login screen i do see the submarine background but thats it.. is it possible for me to interupt the graphic boot to a text mode boot maybe a yum update would fix my problem ? help please ty

Will the liveCD boot? If so, you can access a terminal from there. You could also reinstall if you can boot the CD.

Sure. Just edit the grub configuration and add a 3 at the end of the line to boot into single user mode.

Which graphics chip do you have?

first time i used the live cd it almost did fully boot only my default panel 'taskbar' was missing the ap launcher the clock and the lil system tray i managed to add the app launcher to my desktop it's from there i had run the install everything went well till it wanted to boot for the first time somewhere before the login screen pops up it just hangs with the cool submarine background.. (i have Intel Core i7 920 CPU, Intel X58 chipset and ICH10, 1GB ATI Radeon HD4850 graphics card).. i'l try both nd give an update later ty

You should really check your hardware.

i.e. Run memtest86+ for at least a night.
