Need games!

Anybody can recommend a relatively decent space simulation game or other related fun games for an overall wimpy 90 fps with glxgears full screen? AMD 2x64 2.3 GHz 2 G RAM, GeForce 6150SE nForce 430

Re: Need games!

Check out the Gamers Lounge for game info. (Come to think of it, this thread ought to be moved there. ...guys, oh guys...can we get a move on?)

Re: Need games!

Don'tcha love how the Recently Retired tend to hang around the ol' job, feet up on the desk, and prod those poor guys still trying to do the job?

That said, back to the OP: I'd first install yumex so you get a graphical version of yum. Then I'd search for "3D" and check out the available games. There will be descriptions that might help your search. Maybe Astromenace? Maybe Alien Arena or Quake 3D? Or Nexuiz?

Re: Need games!

Maybe i wouldn't ask and keep trying installing like i did with the Vega thing just to find out it chokes my computer down to 1fps when it sees a planet... But they're big programs and i'm not even sure i can remove them cleanly after i find out. Good ideea with yumex coz Add/Remove Software we have here doesn't do nothing when i try to click on the games icon it waits for me to put some keywords or package names and amazingly enough the more i put the more results i get. LOL. Don't know a think about games but isn't in your job description to help us all to find our way @here? I thought it was better if i take my feet of the desk and simulate something.

Re: Need games!

If you are looking for games, I recently stumbled across Desura which is a digital distribution service for games. I haven't had the chance to try it out much though, but it looks promising. Maybe worth taking a look to see if it's got what you're looking for.

Re: Need games!

Yeah, thanks everybody, there's lots of titles in there, i wish i knew if they work on my hardware, Vega Strike didn't. I don't really have a video card, just what's described above, with a 256 MB aperture.

By the way is there a way to turn a mouse into a joystick so you can fool a game that wants one?
