wireless network light keeps flashing...

I am not sure when it started but the wireless light on my hp ( intel 5100 wireless card) has
started flashing again.

I have:
Created the file /etc/modprob.d/iwlagn.conf and it
contains the line: options iwlagn led_mode=1

This worked for kernels <=3.1.4

Has something changed?

Jerry

Re: wireless network light keeps flashing...

Hey,

I know this thread has become a little dusty, but since it is the first hit on google I will answer anyways.

On my HP w/ Intel 5300 wifi chip Kernel 3.3.1 renaming iwlagn.conf to iwlwifi.conf and changing "options iwlagn led_mode=1" to "options iwlwifi led_mode=1" did the trick.

A quick "modprobe -r iwlwifi && modprobe iwlwifi" on the commandline instantly made my notebook bearable again.

if you are using the iwlwifi driver you can try this:
1) create iwlwifi.conf in /etc/modprobe.d
2) add the line
options iwlwifi led_mode=1
in the file iwlwifi.conf
3) reboot.

I am currently using the iwlwifi driver with the 2600 centino chip and no
longer need the above line.
