Re: Installing Frostwire or other peer to peer programs

The best way and version to install frostwire for fedora is below later versions dont work so well, however it is dodgy to install now as its being clamped down on now and dont recommend it, usenet/newsgroups is a better option.
HTML Code:
su
yum -y install wget libXp.i686 java-1.6.0-openjdk-plugin compat-libstdc++-33 compat-libstdc++-296 lesstif.i686 libXtst.i686
wget http://newyork1.frostwire.com/frostwire/4.17.0/frostwire-4.17.0.noarch.rpm
rpm -Uvh --nodeps frostwire*.rpm
rm -f frostwire*.rpm

Frostwire is a clone of limewire

ATTENTION
LimeWire is under a court order dated October 26, 2010 to stop distributing the LimeWire software. A copy of the injunction can be found here. LimeWire LLC, its directors and officers, are taking all steps to comply with the injunction. We have very recently become aware of unauthorized applications on the internet purporting to use the LimeWire name. We demand that all persons using the LimeWire software, name, or trademark in order to upload or download copyrighted works in any manner cease and desist from doing so. We further remind you that the unauthorized uploading and downloading of copyrighted works is illegal.

Its taking me a while to warm up to any non-deb distro, but F16 is really impressing me and looks like I may stay fedora for many years to come.
