I am not entirely sure that you will have a choice.
Compiling up Gnome on your own is generally impossible unless you have a lot of experience, or a ports type system to patch / configure the source for you.
It works the other way too. For example it is generally unlikely you could use an older version of Gnome either.
So all I can really suggest is either wait it out, or pick a simpler window manager if you want bleeding edge GUI stuff on Fedora
