I need help with network manager

Hey, folks. I don't know much about command line in terminal, but I still managed to screw up. In trying to get a usb wireless device working I copied and pasted something I found in this forum. It did not work. Can't seem to find it now, though. Now network manager does not start at boot, so I have to open a terminal and type /sbin/service NetworkManager restart

After that it works great, I can use a wired connection again, and I can live with that. But I have to do it each time I boot. Can it be fixed so it starts automatically? Also, when I close terminal it warns me that there is still a process running. Is this the problem?

If that's Fedora 16, you can make it do that at boot with systemctl:

systemctl enable NetworkManager.service

Thanks for the fast reply!! When I tried that it said "couldn't find NetworkManager.service."

Also. I do not know if it is Fedora 16, because it is Fuduntu...which, as I understand it is a varient of Fedora.

The NetworkManager.service definitely exists in Fedora 16, this is what Fedora 16 shows
when you list all the units, in full string mode and showing all including unused and dead
units (-a, that's not required here but didn't hurt)

systemctl -a list-units --full | grep NetworkM

NetworkManager.service loaded active running Network Manager

I figured this out....
su

/sbin/chkconfig --level 345 NetworkManager on

This worked.

I guess Fuduntu is based on an older Fedora back when NetworkManager hadn't been moved from chkconfig to systemd yet

Yeah, I think it is based in Fedora 14. Thanks again, everything works now.
