Command options for PhotoRec? .vob files?

Does anybody know of any command options for PhotoRec? can the utility recover VOB files? I accidentally removed data on a partition by doing rm -rf /media/Data without unmounting the directory first.

Fortunately i had most of the data backed up accept for some vob files that i would like back if possible.

Re: Command options for PhotoRec? .vob files?

recovering .vob files is very hard (and that's an understatement)

I have tried several times to recover .vob files using various tools and never have been able to correctly recover them.

.vob files confuse most of the recovery utilities. I had some dvd movies and recovered some of the .vob files, and when I tried to watch the movie, I would have pieces of a different movie in the middle of the one I was trying to watch.

Another try at recovering .vob files resulted in it recovering the .mpg and .mp3 files as separate files instead of in the .vob file. (For one dvd, I ended up with over 700 individual files )

I never found a good way to recover .vob files.
