[solved] Extended monitor setup struggles - (dual head)

It wants the big monitor to be as poor as resolution as laptop, then all is good. still highly and blatantly unacceptable

Having a duel monitor is one of those basic things that you hope can be konquered on a few hours.

I had planned to watch some shows while working tonight, I was grossly mistaken,

1) in order to make HDMI work, I had to install the ATI calayist control center

2) Now, "system-config-display" simply wont load, so now I can the access the Dual Head option

3) the counterpart ATI option "xinerama", is bugged out

So seriously, how to you force the dual monitor extended desktop on fedora? It absolutely should not be presenting me with troubles.
