Music players not playing music

I just recently updated to Fedora 16, and everything has been going fine except that I can't play my music. Everything works fine in VLC, but when I try to use Rhythmbox it crashes when I try to play a song. When I tried ripping a CD, it told me "Could not create decodebin2." I tried running Banshee and Exaile, and neither of them worked. Exaile crashed before it opened, and Banshee functions except for the fact that it won't play any music (hitting the play button seems to do nothing. The position marker for where the song is stays "Ide"). Does anyone else have this problem? Kernel version 3.1.6-1. I'm updating to the latest one now if that might be the issue.

I also found that I can't play sound in LibreOffice. I've tested sound using aplay, mplayer, and vlc, and they all play sound, but something Rhythmbox, LibreOffice, and Banshee have in common is preventing sound from playing. I was also able to test the sound with Gnome-settings' speaker test, and sound works there also.

I think so. you need install all codecs but first activate RpmFusion

and after install all codecs
yum -y install gstreamer-plugins-bad gstreamer-plugins-bad-free-extras gstreamer-plugins-bad-nonfree gstreamer-plugins-ugly gstreamer-ffmpeg

i think so it would work

Segmentation Fault
It appears to be a problem with GStreamer, but I can't figure out what it is. The change in what the error message at the end comes when I play a song. If I wait longer to play a song, it will output more of the first bunch of lines with new numbers.

Re: Music players not playing music

have you looked at the "Fedora Set-Up Guides"
That YELLOW link in the middle of the TOP of the forum

Dangermouse's autoplus is a VERY good script for "new to Linux" users
also have a look at Mjwired's "quick at a glance" page
