modeset/KMS troubles with ASUS VS248

I've got an Asus VS248 connected using HDMI to an Intel Z68 i3 chipset/processor.

My machine POSTs correctly and when connected to another monitor (also 1920x1080) works fine but when connected to the VS248, after POST and when Kernel Mode Setting starts the screen goes blank. There are no warnings about out of range just a no signal error.

I've tried many different resolutions and refresh rates using xrandr and can't get this monitor to stay on.

Does anybody have any suggestions?

Cheers,

Lee
