VMware Tools installation cannot be started manually while Easy Install is in progres

Dear all, I am using Fedora 16 on a VMware virtual machine, it works well, and I want to install VMware tools, but it turns out to be an error: VMware Tools installation cannot be started manually while Easy Install is in progress.

what's wrong? how to fix it?

PS, it is not because of the autoinst.flp, see the attached.

I even totally delete the floppy device, it didn't make any difference.
