what is bootloader stage1 target device?

I am using VMware virtual machine to install Fedora16, and there is an error:

you have not created a bootloader stage1 target device

What does this mean? And how to solve this in a simple way?

Thanks in advance !

Re: what is bootloader stage1 target device?

You have to create a 1 mb bios boot partition, at the start of the disk is suggestable.
There's no mountpoint for it, you have to select it where you also choose swap or ext4, its at the top of the same list.

Well, just where you create the partitions, you have to add (or insert) it.
The same screen where you have to set root, /boot, swap.
If you chosen to automaticly create partitions, it should have done it for you.

Re: what is bootloader stage1 target device?

Isn't stage 1 the MBR itself? You must select a disk whose MBR will be used during the install. I think it's just before the partitioning screen in the installer. You may well need a BIOS boot partition as well though.
