I've been working on installing fedora 16 on my laptop and have run in to difficulties with grub.
grub was working on a 64 bit install but I have since installed 32 bit and selected the "install over existing Linux" option. From that point in, my laptop boots and displays the HP logo, and then a few squares appear on the screen while the HP logo stays on screen. I was able to determine that these random squares actually are my grub, as they change color when I use the arrow keys and I can still by memory get to my windows partition.
Can anyone help me get my grub back to something readable?

Well, after 5 or 6 reboots the problem seems to have disappeared. Did a fresh install and the problem didn't return.
