Broken text in the desktop

i just install fedora 16 and the text in the whole desktop in broken for example instead of firefox it written fir fox and instead of applications apear app o s

Yeh - same thing. I've banged around changing fonts and improved things somewhat, but the Menu bar across the top is still a graphic mess. Then I'll return later and find it readable (what's up with that?).

RE:Broken text in the desktop
This has happened with my Fedora 17 quest on virtualbox after the recent updates to fix guest additions. Everything still works but looks so untidy, fortunately I have an idea where everything should be so text not a major issue. So messy.

bug fixes dated 28Aug2012 seem to have fixed the windows from jumping from min to max unexpectedly but text along the top bar is still broken [aka F r fox and not Firefox]
