Mozilla sound help requested.

I don't know what happened.

I have the sound piped to a USB wireless sound card and all was well but, as of yesterday Mozilla is using the internal sound only.
The video (Totem) and audio (Rythmbox) both are using my sound setting in sound preferences but Mozilla is not.

P.S. I was trying a few things and installed KMix to look at that after I had a problem and running from a shell it reports

kmix(29636): Hiddeous Channel mixup map says 1 , volume says: 2

I don't know if Hiddeous is a name of something or a warning.

Perhaps it's nothing.

Any Ideas?

Re: Mozilla sound help requested.

It's working again.

What happened is the the sound card got pulled out a bit from the USB port so that caused the system to change sound preferences in some way.
I have seen this effect again today and switched the side the X-Fi is plugged in so my new kitten won't step on it. I use the laptop in bed so my cats "visit" me from time to time.

Anyway if that device is pulled out while in use there may not be a visual change in settings in sound preferences but I had to turn off all but the native sound, reboot, reselect the usb sound card, reboot and then I was back in business.

So that seems to be the fix.

Today when the device was "moved" to the other side of the laptop the act actually changed the sound preferences as reported in sound preferences

Wireless audio is a logical evolution for a laptop. It could be built in if you ask me.
