new icon launcher

It's possible to add to the desktop of Fedora 16 Gnome a new icon launcher (like in F 15)?
I installed Gnome-tweak-tool and selected the "Have file manager handle the desktop" and "Computer icon visible on desktop", but I can't add a new icon on the desktop to launch the corresponding program (like, for instance, Firefox)...
