Weird Error Message on Login to GNOME Shell

So, after upgrading from F15 to F16 (using preupgrade), I'm getting this strange error message after I login to GNOME shell. After I enter my password, and a few seconds of waiting, I get an unhappy PC filling my screen, telling me where was an error that could not be recovered from, and with only a log out button. But it turns out that if I press Alt+F4, I can escape the error message back to the shell, which then runs perfectly fine (!), just as it did in F15; the only exception to this are some occasional weird graphics glitches when looking at the applications menu (Intel graphics, btw).

I waited a while because I thought an eventual update would fix things, and as there is an easy workaround, but as none has been forthcoming, I thought I should mention it here to see if anyone else has run into the same issue.

You mean a message like "Oh no! Something has gone wrong!"

A quick search of this forum will likely get you more than one thread related to that message.

Re: Weird Error Message on Login to GNOME Shell

Thanks! That was rather silly of me, not to use the search function, but I thought I had been watching the forums closely enough that I would have noticed someone posting about it. FWIW, if anyone stumbles upon this, I used the fix suggested in this thread, running 'restorecon -r ~/.local/share/icc', which seems to have fixed the problem. Cheers!
