[SOLVED] Fed 15->16 via DVD seemed to work but future yum updates are borked

I had 3 F15 installations, in order of importance: office server, home server, laptop playground. So I did the F16 update on the laptop & all is great, "yum update" pulled in a post-install 444Meg download and applied it they way I'm used to. I then did my home server and after rebooting saw all was well until I tried a yum update, which failed. Thinking it must have been something I did wrong I did it to the office machine and now that's the same, they run F16 ok but yum won't play. The only difference in config really is the 2 servers have tape drives and run bacula, the laptop doesn't.

The yum failure logs are huge, I'll list them in full necessary but here's what I can gather are the relevant snippets:

I just remembered there is a difference between the laptop install and the others - on the laptop I chose all the window managers, but the servers I only chose KDE as that's all I use. Could there be some dependency on Gnome the F16 installations are looking for?

Re: Fed 15->16 via DVD seemed to work but future yum updates are borked

This turned out to be just a case of duplicate packages from previous installations, in both cases, some went right back to F12. I guess the previous updates didn't work/care about this. In any case, repeatedly doing a package-cleanup --problems and fixing them all (mostly by just removing the package and reinstalling it) both can perform a clean yum updates now.
