Fedora 16, Grub 2 fails with error "GRUB loading."

Hi,

I just performed a clean install of fedora 16 using the install dvd. The installation went fine but when I rebooted the machine all that appeared on the screen was "GRUB loading.". At that stage the screen kept flashing, going black and printing the error again.

I use the following partition layout:
/dev/sda1 ntfs 100mb
/dev/sda2 ntfs 30gb
/dev/sda3 ext4 500mb /boot
/dev/sda4 LVM
ext4 / 80gb
linux swap 5gb

Any ideas why this is happening or what i can do to fix it? Already tried reinstalling grub2 in rescue mode but that failed..

Thanks

just tried booting from the super grub2 disk [supergrubdisk.org] and i got the same error as above.. maybe my computer can't run grub2 as it was working fine with fedora 15 and grub.. are there any requirements for grub2?
