yum broken?

Somehow I broke yum.

I wanted to update today and it gave me the following error

Code:
Error: Cannot retrieve repository metadata (repomd.xml) for repository: fedora. Please verify its path and try again
as a workaround I tried

Code:
yum clean all && yum update
same thing happened. Then I downloaded the (missing) metalink.xml manually from the server and placed it in the right /var/cache/yum/ folder.

now it kinda works again, but yum gives me the following error:

Code:
Could not get metalink https://mirrors.fedoraproject.org/metalink?repo=fedora-16&arch=x86_64 error was
14: Peer cert cannot be verified or peer cert invalid
When I change from the mirrorlist to the baseurl in the repo files it seems to work normally, but that's a dirty workaround.

Has anyone an idea what I broke? The same applies for the updates and updates-testing repo as well...

[edit] on another machine on the same network I have no problems at all, everything works fine.7

[edit2] something is broken in updates-testing. updated a third machine and same result as above.

It's one of these packages:

Re: yum broken?

Have you installed dropbox? If so refer to my earlier post http://forums.fedoraforum.org/showthread.php?t=272169

Re: yum broken?

Code:
[katastrophal@katastrophal-laptop ~]$ cat /etc/yum.repos.d/dropbox.repo
[Dropbox]
name=Dropbox Repository
baseurl=http://linux.dropbox.com/fedora/15/
#baseurl=http://linux.dropbox.com/fedora/$releasever/
gpgkey=http://linux.dropbox.com/fedora/rpm-public-key.asc
[katastrophal@katastrophal-laptop ~]$
This is an issue with the fedora/updates/updates-testing repository. Dropbox is already fixed (and a known issue for me)
